Trauma-informed design and rebrand for a domestic abuse charity

VOICES provides recovery support and advocacy for people affected by domestic abuse.

Visual identity and user interface design

VOICES wanted a safe space for their clients to find support and resources, without overwhelming them. I developed a new visual identity and user interface for their website. The trauma-informed design aims to portray warmth and approachability. It features soft curves, rounded corners and illustrated icons.

Web build & customisation

I developed most of the Wordpress website using the Beaver Builder and Advanced Custom Fields plugins. I created a user-friendly CMS (content management system) to empower VOICES to manage their content independently.

To create bespoke design features, I worked with the off-shore development team. One example is the ‘Leave site immediately’ button, which clears the website from vulnerable users’ browser history.
